Español 3-4: marzo

3/21  Tarea:  Flashcards 9B (10pts)
                     Texto:  p. 387-389 Lee el diálogo y el artículo sobre Ecuador y haz Act. 2,4,5,7 (10pts)
                     Cuaderno: 9B.1, 9B.2, 9B.3, 9B.4 (Lee Tp. 389 primero) (10 pts)
                     Cuento:  Each of you will memorize over break the story "El pájaro de los siete colors".
                     For each box, or numbered section of the story you need to use the words there to rewrite one or two sentences to summarize the section.  Then memorize it.  You are welcome to blow up the pictures or draw your own to go along with the telling of the story or a poster with the scenes.  These are only optional to help you retell the story.  I will call on 3 to 4 students each day after school starts until you have all recited the story.  Don't worry about plagiarizing the words of the story when you write your summary sentences to memorize.  The object of this is not to see how well you write but rather to help you learn pret. vs. imperfecto.  We will do the same with other stories so don't let this one slip by over break.  I will grade you on correct usage of preterite and the imperfecto.  Here is a link to listen to me reading the story to help you with pronunciation:  Reading of "El pájaro de 7 colores"


3/19  Prueba el 21 de marzo:  this is what will be on the test, most of what you see in 9A:  One part will shave a paragraph with the verbs all in the present and you will switch them all to the preterito, you should know your regular -ar, -er, -ir verb endings in the past, ir/ser in preterito (fui, fuiste, fue...), estar (estuve, estuviste...), dar (di, diste,...) and all -ir stem changers like repetir (repetí, repetiste, repitió...).  Do not worry about the imperfect tense, it won't be on the test. Also, vocab in context, know the culture sections on Panamá, the Kuna people and their art, called Molas, also read culture section on the different words for clothes around the spanish speaking world. NEGATIVE WORDS vs. positive (algo, nada, alguien, nadie).  One vocab section uses the following terms:  lo que leva and lo que se pone which mean:  "What one wears for..."  Por ejemplo: if the test says "lo que se poner para andar en las montañas" you would write "boats"

3/18 3/14  Prueba vocab 9A#4 la próxima clase sobre "la ropa interior" hasta el final de la lista.
Tarea:  Keep working on the story.  You should start to write it in your own words and try to start memorizing it. (20pts)
Flashcards: Flashcards Tp. 381, In each section, write out the positive and the negative that go together on one side of one flashcard, large cards are best if you can get the 8 x 5 cards.  We will do the English in class. (10pts)  Write out the entire sentence in Spanish.

3/12  Prueba #1 Vocab 9A #3 palabras de "metal" hasta "ropa interior"  (practiquen sus tarjetas flash)
Prueba #2:  Stem-changing -ir present progressive, present tense and pretérito:  preferrer, pedir, dormir, morir, mentor, repetir (Practice these by writing out the tenses and their meanings.  Remember that the present progressive form of a verb that is an -ir pretérito stem-changer uses the stem-changed 3rd person pretérito-form of each verb Ej.  he asked= él pidió ----present progressive>>>>> = estoy pidiendo.

3/11  En clase:  repasamos el examen de capítulo 8 y leímos un poco del cuento.  You need to download the questions that I was supposed to upload over the weekend and didn't, but here it is:  El pájaro de los siete colores: PREGUNTAS  and here is the text again if you need a copy  "El pájaro de los siete colores."

3/7  En clase: hicimos dos largas actividades orales en grupo. y Tp. 372 Act. 17 y 18.  Periodo 3 tiene que terminar act. 18 en casa y escrito en sus apuntes.  Tarea:  Paquete p. 141 9A.7 y 9A.8, Prue de vocab de la palabra "los chones" hasta "las medias" para el lunes y hay que leer el cuento "El pájaro de los siete colores y contestar las preguntas bajo documentos.

3/5  En clase:  tomamos la primera prueba del vocabulario 9A y the lesson was over Tp. 370 and stem-changing preterite -ir verbs.  We wrote in our rotafolios and if you weren't here you need to get those notes from documents 7-8.  We also handed out the Chap. 9 packet.  Do no throw out packet 8 till after the final in June.  En el paquete hagan p. 137-140 Act. 9A.1, 9A. 2, 9A.3, 9A.4, 9A.6.
Prueba next class over all words on 9A list up to "chones".

Rotafiolio: tomamos apuntes de los verbos de cambio de raíz en el pretérito.

3/4  Tarea:  terminar con sus tarjetas flash de 9A y estudien hasta la palabra "chaqueta" para el caso en que tengamos prueba.
